Avio (Italy) selected SIL’s Li-Ion Polymer Intelli-Pack® 20Ah next-generation battery to power avionics and telemetry subsystems on its In Flight Demonstrator (IFD). The effort is supported by ESA and funded through Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
Intelli-Pack® batteries deliver high energy density (200–250 Wh/kg), high current discharge, and an integrated Battery Management System in a compact package — with EAR-99 approval for overseas sale. Avio cited power density and weight/volume savings not available from equivalent solutions on the market.
